Christ Episcopal Church Poughkeepsie

Celebrating over 250 years of Service and Worship

Historical Publications

The life of Christ Episcopal Church has been chronicled by two exceptional books.

“The Records of Christ Church, Poughkeepsie,” provides historical information of the church from its inception in 1766 to 1916.  Helen Wilkinson Reynolds, a parishioner, was the editor.  This book is accessible online through the Library of Congress Archive.

“A Church in the City,” published in the parish’s 250th year, 2016, chronicles the last 100 years. The author, Mary Flad, utilized the minutes from over 100 years of vestry meetings and various note-taking.  This book is available for purchase from google books or  the church office .
