Summer Camp is Postponed Until 2021!

Christ Episcopal Church Summer Camp

Celebrating & Serving Poughkeepsie Youth  since 1963!

Summer Camp at Christ Church is a nonsectarian and inclusive 6-week summer day program that accepts children aged 6-11 on a first-come first-served basis. It is a community outreach program of Christ Episcopal Church. Over the years our camp family has extended to the second and even third generation in some Poughkeepsie families as campers return year after year, then their children and their children’s children.

The camp day runs from 8:30am to 4pm. Monday through Friday. Breakfast, lunch, and snack are included for the the entire 6-week program. There is before-camp care from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and after-camp care from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at additional cost. Payment plans may be arranged at In-Person registration.

Campers and staff enjoy the use of four bright air-conditioned rooms in Christ Church. The Walley urban park on the Christ Church campus is their playground, as are the many places of interest in the immediate area and beyond.

Each year we expect to accept 60 campers, and to hire 10 full-time staff members over 18 years of age, as well as 4 teen-age interns, all of whom will be CPR and First Aid certified. The camp is divided into 4 age groups, each well staffed by a Senior Counselor, a Counselor and an Intern.  Age-appropriate and age-interest activities are planned by each group and all-camp programs and field trips are also part of camp life. The Grand Finale and party on the last evening of camp is when families and friends celebrate their children’s performance and accomplishments.
