The experience of Christian worship at Christ Episcopal Church is centered in the Eucharist – a celebration of God’s Word and the sacrament of Holy Communion.
For those familiar with the nuances contained within the variety of worship styles encompassed by the Episcopal Church, worship at Christ Church could be described as Broad. Not so high as to include incense and a sung gospel. Not so low as to preclude liturgical vestments or require that Morning Prayer be a staple of Sunday worship.
An important word about children in worship.
Christ Episcopal Church recognizes the ministry of and to children and youth in our midst.
Our practice in Sunday morning worship at the ten o’clock service is for children through the sixth grade to be in Sunday School. More information about our Sunday School program is available here.
The children come into the church during The Peace, and join their families to receive Holy Communion.
There is a staffed nursery available from 9:30am until 11:30am.
Children are welcome in our services at all times. If your young one would prefer to stay with you throughout the entire service, please know that they are welcome to do so. In the church, there is a ‘soft space’ available for children (accompanied by an adult) who might rather draw or play quietly, rather than remain in the pews. While we believe that the experience of Sunday School is important in the formation of children, the principal consideration must be the child (and parent’s) comfort, safety, and peace of mind.
